About RITTI

The Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute was ceremonially declared open by the Hon Prime Minister at the time, Mr. Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, on 04 June 2001 at the Panagoda Army Temple premises. The Hon Minister for then Justice Constitutional Affairs, Ethnic Affairs and National Integration, Industrial Development and Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. G L Peiris was also in attendance at this ceremony.


This Institute was inaugurated with the intention of providing an education in the field of Information Technology to the immediate family members of officers and men currently serving in the Army and to the next of kin of those who had laid down their lives or who have been disabled due to the war that has ravaged this country for the last three decades.


The RITTI was raised with a vision of becoming the primary resource center for providing IT training for Ranaviru family members as an extended welfare service of the Sri Lanka Army. Army and civil lecturers & instructors, professionally qualified in the field of IT conduct courses for the students at this Institute.

Mission

To provide IT training courses at several levels of proficiency to allow trainees to pursue different career opportunities that match their qualifications, experience and ability.



Scope and Objectives

The training courses at the institute are conducted in the area of IT and computer applications. The institute is committed to provide its students with both the technical knowledge and the practical skills required to successfully function as an IT worker. The institute will seek to provide ranaviru family members with a well-recognized initial qualification required to begin a vocation in the computer and IT field.
